BENCH TOP STATIC NEUTRALIZER
SNP-01

Air ions are molecules that have lost or gained an electron. Ions are present in normal air but are “stripped” out when an air is subject to filtration and conditioning. They are produced by radioactive emission or by phenomenon called “corona discharge” where a high voltage is applied to sharp point. All air ionization systems work by flooding the atmosphere with positive and negative ion, when ionized air comes in contact with a charge surface; the charge surface attracts ions of the opposite polarity. As a result the static electricity that has build up on products, equipment and surface is neutralized. Typically, air is very insulative with a resistive exceeding 10E15 ohms/meter. By increasing the numbers of ions in the air it is possible to lower the Resistivity of the air to 10E11 ohms/meter, there by making the air more conductive. Conductive air can neutralize the static charge on every surface that it contents. The field from the charged surface attracts ions of the opposite polarity until the charged on the surface is neutralized. The Static neutralizer is portable and uses a small fan to produce airflow. High voltages generated out of the supply line voltage are applied to stainless steel ion emitter points. These points produce intense alternating polarities, ionizing the air instantly in the fan airflow. The Static eliminator-neutralizer is designed for use when handling sensitive electronic components where electrostatic discharge is a problem. The unit can also used where static electricity causes problems such as; attraction of drift to product, misalignment of small parts due to electrostatic “jumping” and undesirable adhesion of plastic films due to electrostatic charge.

WRIST STRAP & DUAL FOOT WEAR TESTER
WSFT-02

The Wrist strap Cum Dual Footwear tester is a jig type arrangement to test the validity of ESD Wrist strap; Slippons and Shoes and Independent measurement is taken simultaneously of both right, left foot and wrist strap at the same time. Other Footwear testers can only measure two foot at a time, or the combined resistance of both foot. The wrist strap cum Dual Foot Tester reduces the testing time by half, and offers the operator a visual and audible measurement of Pass or fail of both foot and wrist strap before entering the EPA. Operation of Wrist Strap: Connect the wrist strap cord to the instrument with the strap on the wrist; press gently on the metal sensor of the instrument. The instrument comes on automatically when this is done. The operator can check whether the resistance of the wrist strap falls within the acceptable range (0.75 to 10 Meg ohms), This is indicated by green (pass) LED lighting up. Operation of foot wears: Simply stand on the two stainless steel footprints and push the press to test button. The instrument comes on automatically when this is done. The operator can check whether the resistance of the Foot wears falls within the acceptable range of 0.75 to 100 meg ohms, This is indicated by green (pass) LED lighting up.

SINGLE CHORD  WORK STATION MONITOR (for one operator)
WSM-01

The Model WSM-01 has independent circuitry designed to continuously monitor the connections to ESD earth of Wrist strap & Work surface.

WRIST STRAP: This section continuously monitors the wrist strap to detect loss of continuity between operator and monitor. Conditions such as broken coils cords and improper contact with the skin are detected instantly to alert the operator before serious and expensive ESD damage can occur. As there is no resistance return path from the wrist strap, it uses the ‘capacitive AC pulse principle’ to check if the operator is adequately grounded. The wrist strap section is automatically activated when it is plugged in. continuous monitoring reduces the need for periodic checks and also ensures greater security. ESD WORK SURFACE: The work surface is monitored by a DC Resistive principle and a warning is given in case the surface to ground resistance exceeds the safe threshold value of 10 Meg ohms.

HUMAN BODY VOLTAGE CHECKER
SC-01

WHAT IS STATIC ELECTRICITY:
Static electricity is an electrical charge that is at rest, as opposed to electricity in motion or current electricity. Static charges can be generated by either friction or induction.

HOW IS GENERATED:
The most common generation of static charge is the triboelectric charge or the friction electricity developed when rubbing tighter and then separating two masses. For example, when two blocks are rubbed tighter and then separated, a triboelectric charge is developed on each block. The two blocks will have opposite polarities; one will be negatively charged and the other will be positively charged.

STATIC GENERATION FROM THE CARPET: When a person walks across a carpet or tile floor, a triboelectric charge builds up in the body due to the friction between the shoes and the floor material. The more you generate this friction static the greater the voltage potential develops in the body, you are acting as a capacitor. Everyone’s capacitance to hold charges is different. However a sure sign of static presence is hair standing on end or static discharge sparks. Static discharges cab be noticed when you touch an object of lower electrical potential such as a door knob, and a bold of electricity flows from your charged body to the knob. This flows of electricity is actually a result of the stored static charge that is being rapidly discharged to the lower potential object. This discharge that can be felt as well as seen, is commonly referred to as an electrostatic discharge, or “ESD” Human Body Voltage Checker is a new and unique visual method of detecting how much static charge a person is carrying. The unit can be wall mounted outside the ESD protected area to avoid charged persons unknowingly entering, or used by operators to periodically check that they are not creating a charge within the protected area. The meter must always be grounded, to produce an accurate measurement, but more importantly to allow the operator to discharge to a safe handling limit. Touch to test, and watch the LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY indicated between 000 to 1999 Volts of static charge + or – polarity.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Power supply : 9V Dc battery
Accuracy : +/-10%
Resolution : 1 Volt
Low battery indication : low battery set voltage 6.5 volts
Test actuation : touch to test
Dimensions in mm : 135 x 70 x 30 mm
Weight : 165gms (with battery)
Calibration : Recommended once in 12 months

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

The instrument must always be connected to ground; not grounding the unit can result in inconsistent results. If the Human body Voltage Checker is not grounded, a charge is retained just as an insulator would retain a charge and therefore the readings are inconsistent. The circuit will only become responsive when you offer a path to ground.

OPERATION:

Personnel before entering the ESD safe area should check for static voltage and discharge to ground through the meter. Place the finger on the ‘touch to test’ metal plate to know the amount of voltage a person is carrying and you can see the amount of charge is gradually goes to ground.

APPLICATION:

1. Human Body Voltage Checker can be used to detect how much static a person is carrying.

2. Will indicate if wrist straps and coil cords are functioning, ground leads, bounding plugs, heel straps, custom floors, Static Spray Coating, etc
